The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an excellent opportunity to experience high level sport in a unique way. The next YOG is in 2024 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Located at Canada Olympic Park, the Ice House is the only indoor facility of its kind in North America, allowing sliding athletes of all levels to perfect the all important push, even during the summer when the Olympic track is closed.
COP opened this one-of-a-kind facility in February 2001. This has allowed Canada and athletes around the world to develop their push skills in bobsleigh, luge and of course, Skeleton during the summer months.
The Provincial Program comprises athletes who are part of the Provincial Team and Provincial Development Teams commencing from the team announcement of the current season until the team announcement of the following season.
Anyone who wants to get involved in sliding regularly, whether recreationally or competitively, must complete a skeleton school.
With the track in Calgary closed for the foreseeable future, ASA has partnered with Snipers Skeleton Club and hosts driving schools in Whistler, BC. Skeleton schools take 5 - 10 days and includes on-ice training, video review, skeleton theory, coaching, and equipment rental.
